0% HEAT Loan Financing in Nahant

A Mass Save HEAT Loan can carry up to $25,000 of the project at 0% interest, through lenders in the program. Our part: the proposal and a guided tour of every form.

Zero Interest, Clear Steps

The Mass Save HEAT Loan lets homeowners finance heat pumps and weatherization at 0% interest, up to $25,000. We are not the lender; banks and credit unions in the program are. Our job is to make the application easy to put together and the numbers easy to read.

The sequence never changes. Step one: an electric or gas account with a utility that runs Mass Save. We write a contractor proposal that lists the equipment, the work and the price. You sign an authorization form. You apply with a participating lender, who decides on approval. After the install, the work is inspected, and the loan closes out. For a whole-home project, a Home Energy Assessment comes first.

The loan pairs well with the rebate. The rebate lowers the total. The loan covers what is left, or part of it, so you are not writing one large check up front. We line the two up in the proposal: price, rebate estimate, loan amount and your share, all on the same page. Loan terms and payments are the lender's call, so you will not hear them from us. Our side is a complete file with correct figures in it.

What Financing Help Includes

The pieces that move a HEAT Loan from idea to closed file.

  • Eligibility check

Your Mass Save utility account and project type reviewed so you know the loan is worth pursuing.

  • Contractor proposal

A written proposal listing hardware, work and cost, laid out the way banks and the program like to see it.

  • Authorization form

Help completing and signing the authorization form that ties the proposal to the loan.

  • Lender list

Guidance finding a participating bank or credit union and knowing what documents to bring.

  • Rebate and loan together

Both numbers set side by side so the loan amount reflects what the rebate already covers.

  • Inspection and closeout

The post-install inspection lined up and the final documents finished so the file closes cleanly.

Loan Steps in Order

  1. Confirm

Utility account checked and, for whole-home work, the Home Energy Assessment booked.

  2. Apply

Proposal and authorization form completed, then the application taken to a participating lender for approval.

  3. Finish

Work completed, inspected and documented so the lender can close the loan.
